PHOTO PROVIDED Ruby William and Autumn Rose Lester of Hammondsport perform as Project CARE volunteers.
Hammondsport Project CARE volunteers recently visited two local nursing homes on Make A Difference Day. Including youth, 19 volunteers participated.

At the Fred and Harriett Taylor Health Center, volunteers did manicures, visited, and provided music. Kay Leiderbach played the piano and two girls, Ruby Williams and Autumn Rose Lester, played several different instruments and sang.

At the Steuben County Health Care Facility volunteers served coffee while Richard and Sharon Schied sang. Other volunteers included: Lyn Chadwick, Cameron Drain, Millie DeSeyn, Carolyn Hughes, Claire Kolodziejczak, Debbie Lester, Shylynn Nelson, Lucy Perkins, Sidney Sprague, Meriah VanSickle, Carter Watson, Barb Welles, Betty White and Sandra Williams.

Project CARE assists seniors 60 and older in Central Steuben County by providing friendly visits, transportation, grocery shopping, and help with other household chores. The program is sponsored through the Steuben County Office for the Aging.
