Carol A. Genung

GROTON - Carol A. Genung, age 62, of 32 Old Stage Road, Groton, passed away Thursday, Nov. 8, at home. Mrs. Genung was born August 24, 1945 at Kittanning, Pennsylvania a daughter of the late Franklin and Evelyn Hammer Witherow. Carol was married to Clarence W. "Chuck" Genung, Sr., on Oct. 21, 1989 at Wallace. She was employed at P&C Markets in Bath and Cortland. She was a member of the Groton Assembly of God Church. Carol enjoyed her family, baking and spending time with her grandchildren. She was an avid card player. Carol was a loving wife, mother, grandmother who will be greatly missed by "Chuck" and her family.

Survivors include her husband, Clarence W. Genung, Sr. of Groton; her children Cindy (Corey) Zydanowicz of Bath, Patricia (Chad) Higgins of Lausanne, Switzerland, Mark (Jolene) Ferringer of Freeville, Cheryl Marie (Samuel) Rose of Groton, C. Wayne (Regina) Genung, Jr. of Lansing; her siblings, Patricia Nutting, Ruth Lewis, Joey Witherow, Daniel Stover, Randall Stover; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brothers, James Witherow and Richard Witherow,

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, at the Perkins Funeral Home with Rev. Sam Neno officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Friends are invited to call from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Noc. 12, at the funeral home, 55 West Main St., Dryden.
