Doris G. Holmes

BATH - Doris G. Holmes, 87, of Evergreen Street, Lake Country Estates, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 7, at Alice's Rest Home, Avoca.

She was born Feb. 20, 1920 in Prattsburgh, the daughter of Spencer and Niva Wright Cook.

Doris was a member of the Savona Federated Church and a 50-year employee of Corning Inc.

She is survived by a daughter, Beverly Kerr of Bath; three sons, Spencer Hoad of Bath, Gary (Linda) Hoad of West Henrietta, and Larry Hoad of St. Petersburg, Florida; step-son Steve (Cathy) Holmes of Savona; sisters, Ruth (Bob) Metz and Joyce Davis, both of Bath; and a brother, Nelson Cook (Linda) of Palmyra; son-in-law, Karl Kerr of Bath; 11 grandchildren, 21 greatgrandchildren, 10 great-greatgrandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Friends called at the Seager-Jones Funeral Home, 4 E. Washington Street, Bath, on Friday, Nov. 9, from 12-2 p.m. Services were held Friday, Nov. 9, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Ron Huckabone officiating. Burial was held in Seamens Cemetery, Savona.
