Bath Cross Crountry receives Section Five trophy

The Bath Cross Country team broke a 37 year drought by bringing home the Section Five trophy this past Saturday, Nov. 3. The Rams posted an exciting 2 point victory over archrival Leroy. As usual the Rams were paced by the Snyder brothers, Derek and Darren, who placed second and fifth, respectively. Heroic performances were also turned in by Garrison Kohler, Sean Ainsworth and Sam Armstrong.
The last time Bath won a sectional title in cross coutnry was in 1970 under legendary hall of fame coach Tony Versage.
With their victory to Rams qualify for the State meet. On Thursday afternoon the team will travel to Geneva to meet the section five bus. It is then on to Ogdensburg know where the boys will be staying at the Riverfront Resort Hotel. The Class C meet will be held at 9:55 on Saturday morning at Norwood-Norfolk High School.
Each of the top seven runners received a section five patch. Derek and Darren were awarded an additional patch for their top-ten finish. Congratulations gentlemen, for a remarkable season.
