Mary L. Walczak

BATH - Mary L. Walczak, 79, of Knightsettlement Road in Bath, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, surrounded by her loving family at the Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester. She was born in Bath, Sept. 25, 1928 the daughter of Wesley Sr. and Jessie O'Dell Stratton. Mary's special joy in life were her grandchildren. She was an avid Jeff Gordon and Nascar Fan.

She is survived by her three daughters, Janalee (Keith) Orfanides of Bath, Jessica (Dennis) Dusablon of Bath and Jenny Brown of Bath; two sons, Richard (Sandra) Palmer of Bath and John V. (Terri) Walczak of Bath; 12 grandchildren, Doug (Rebecca) Palmer, Jason Palmer, Frank (Laura) Walczak, Kathleen Dusablon, David Brown, Ashley Brown, Jeffrey Walczak, Stacey Walczak and quadruplets, Elias, Tanner, Gabriella and Bryce Orfanides; three great grandchildren, twins Austin and Emily Palmer and Hunter Shoemaker; her sister, Virginia Tomb of Kanona; two brothers, Kenneth (Aletha) Stratton of Wheeler and James (Marjean) Stratton of Prattsburgh, sister-in-law, Sarah Stratton of Bath. She was predeceased by her husband John Walczak in 2002 and brothers, Wesley Stratton Jr. and Fred Tomb.

Private family services will be held. Burial will be in the Bath National Cemetry. Memorial contributions in Mary's name may be made to Bath Volunteer Fire Department.

Sherry L. Case

BATH - Sherry L. Case, 64, of Circle Drive, Bath, died Sunday Nov. 11, at Alice's Rest Home in Avoca.

She was born in Penn Yan, the daughter of the late Malcolm Covert and Doris (Smith) Covert. She was a member of the St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Bath. She had taught at Western Pennsylvania School for the deaf from 1964-65. Sherry had co-found the Wee-Lad and Lassie Play School in 1963 in Penn Yan. She was a retired Teacher's Assistant from Haverling Central School in Bath.

She is survived by her mother and step-father, Doris (Don) Covert Barcliff; two daughters, Sara (Ted) Rosno of Bradford and Amy Case of Corning; two grandchildren , Bret Rosno and Alex Rosno of Bradford; three brothers, Malcolm (Oneita) Covert of Farmington, Jan Covert of Florida and Tim (Mary Jo) Covert of Geneva; several nieces and nephews and special friends, Dick and Dawn Fitzwater. She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest Case, father Malcolm Covert, mother-in-law, Eleanor Frisk and father-inlaw Ernest Case.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 19 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Bath with Reverend J. Brad Benson officiating. Fagan's Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorial donation s in Sherry's name may be made to the Alice's Rest Foundation Comfort Home Inc. 8904 Cook Road, Avoca, New York 14809.
