PHOTOS PROVIDED The fall turkey at right was harvested Nov. 3 by Randy L. Akins of Risingville. Using the same arrow, he was hunting from the same tree stand from which he shot a 285 pound black bear on Oct. 17. The turkey weighed 16 pounds and had an 8 inch beard. The following afternoon about 5:05 p.m. , Akins harvested a 9-point buck, pictured above, with a 17.5- inch spread. The deer was hunted in a separate location in the Town of Thurston using the same arrow as the bear and turkey.
