Wedding anniversary

James R. and Irma B.Short of Birch Street, Bath celebrated their 65th Wedding Anniversary with a family Thanksgiving dinner at the home of their grandson James John in Endwell.

James R. Short and the former Irma E. Butters were married in Bath on Nov. 25, 1942 with the Rev. Harland Tuttle officiating.

The Shorts have a son James Michael (Linda) Short of Apalachin and daughter Renee (Kevin) Bixby of Vestal. They also have four grandchildren, four greatgrandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A veteran of World War II, Mr. Short retired under Coca Cola after 40 years as an accountant at Taylor Wine Company. Mr. Short served the Hammondsport Central School as District Clerk in the 1950's and Member of Board of Education in the 1960's. He is a lifetime member and former Treasurer of the Elmira Chapter of National Accountants Assn. He also served as a former Treasurer of Hammondsport Presbyterian Church and Secretary of Hammonsport Rotary Club.

Mrs. Short worked at Taylor Wine before her marriage and later as a Library Aide at Hammonsport Central School.

Both were members of Wine Country Seniors and Hammondsport Presbyterian Church.
