Local student graduates from Coast Guard training
FN Coastguardsman, Christopher R. Yarrison graduated from The United States Coast Guard Training Center in Cape May, New Jersey on Nov. 2 after undergoing eight weeks of rigorous physical training as well as intensive instructions on the Coast Guard's core values which include Honor, Respect and Devotion to Duty.
After a few days of arriving at the Training Center in Cape May, Yarrison was elected Leader of his Company (Hotel Co.) Yarrison also had the privilege and honor to be one of eight recruits chosen to participate on the Ceremonial Drill team. Yarrison was also elected Drill Team Leader and Captain. The Drill Team performed at the Graduation ceremony and immediately captured the attention of all those who attended the ceremony with their extremely impressive and prestigious routine performance.
FN Yarrison will be stationed in Portsmouth, Virginia where he will be on The United States Coast Guard Cutter, Harriet Lane, which is a 270' Medium Endurance Vessel.
Yarrison is a 2004 high school graduate of Haverling Central School.
