William J. Irwin PULTENEY - William J. Irwin, 84, of 14888 Stone Pt. passed away Tuesday, Nov. 27 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira. He was born July 29, 1923 in Oxford, Massachusetts, the son of James and Mary Jane Hammon Irwin. He was a patrolman for the Massachusetts State Police, food service director at Monroe Community Hospital in Rochester, Realtor for Property Prospectors in Ashville, North Carolina, an assistant disaster director for FEMA, member of the VFW and DAV, and a Marine Veteran of WWII Surviving are his wife of 35 years Alise Ogden Irwin; son Kenneth J. (Denise) Irwin Sr. of Westford, Massachusetts; daughters Jacqui (Joe) Howard of N. Attleboro, Massachusetts, Susan Sjostrom of Whitman, Massachusetts and Kim Irwin of Rochester; five grandschildren Stacey, Karen, Kenneth Jr., Brian and Joseph Jr.; and five great-grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by his grandson James. Friends attended a memorial service Saturday, Dec. 1, at 10 a.m. at the LaMarche Funeral Home, 35 Main St. Hammondsport with Maurenne O'Neil officiated. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, the D.A.V. or a charity of one's choice. |
