Are Wal-Mart concerns overblown?

To the Editor,

I have been wondering about these Wal-Mart protesters. I have been reading their letters, and I have a question.

If there is so much concern about this huge aquifer that serves so many surrounding towns and that Wal-Mart will be sitting on, don't you suppose if it's that big that Phillips, Simmons Rockwell, ARC and the industrial park are already sitting on it?

I also have a hard time believing that the traffic will amount to 800+ cars an hour; this area is not a metropolis.

I still believe with the cost of every living expense going up, but wages remaining the same, the area does need a Wal-Mart.
