Addison feasts on forfeits for win
THE LEADER STAFF

CAMPBELL - Take away five Campbell-Savona forfeits, and Thursday's, Dec. 7, Steuben County Athletic Association wrestling meet against Addison probably would have been a nail-biter.

Instead, the nights got five freebies and won six weight classes to hand their rivals a 57-22 on the Panthers' home floor. The forfeits, no doubt, hurt Campbell-Savona's chances on Thursday, Dec. 7.

"Yeah they did. I've got a few kid to fill those holes, so we'll be close to a full lineup," said Campbell- Savona coach Dom Scolaro.

Addison got two big wins at 145 and 130 pounds, with the Knights able to finish off long matches with pin falls. Dillon Franco finally got Brandon McLaughlin on the mat after a 5:56-minute marath on match at 145 pounds, and at 130 Jonas Byler wrestled Matt Knowles to a 5:26-minute pin. The Knights' most commanding victory came in the 215-pound class, where Josh Stewart scored a pin in one minute against Bryan Chambers.

However, the Panthers weren't overmatched.

In the heavyweight category, 275 pounds, Andrew McIlwain ended a nearly three-minute long tussle against Drew Dunn with a pin, and at 152 pounds Josh Simons pinned Chris Ribble after 5:38 minutes.

"Man for man, I thought it was a well-fought match," Scolaro said. "The boys wrestled hard and it was fun to watch, for the spectators."

Addison will face Campbell-Savona again on Tuesday, Dec. 11.
