Howard H. Cook HAMMONDSPORT - Howard H. Cook, 69, of 8502 State Route 54, passed away Sunday, Dec. 16, at his home. He was born March 7, 1938 in the Town of Urbana, the son of Christian and Sarah Crane Cook. Howard was a 1956 graduate of Hammondsport Central School, where he was an avid sportsman. He had been a carpenter in this area for many years and then for 21 years, ran Cook's Seafood in Hammondsport, along with his wife Connie. He also was an avid flower gardener. Surviving are his wife, Connie Ogden Cook; sons, Michael (Jackie) Cook of Addison, and Mark Cook of Silver City, New Mexico; brother, Christian Cook of Ottawa, Illinois; three grandchildren, Jonathan, Sarah and Nick Cook; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Nick A. Cook in 1986. Friends called at the LaMarche Funeral Home, 35 Main Street, Hammondsport on Friday, Dec. 21, from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 22, from 11 a.m. to Noon. Funeral and Committal services where held at the funeral home on Saturday, Dec. 22, at Noon with the Rev. Paul Rowley officiating. Interment was held in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Hammondsport. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hammondsport Public Library, Box 16, or the Leukemia Society CNY Chapter, 401 N. Salina St., Learbury Center, Syracuse, NY 13203. |
