Forged instrument

The Bath Criminal Investigations Unit arrested Grace A. Brown- Borsberry, 24 years old, of Cook School Road in Prattsburgh on December 17, 2007. She was charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the second degree, a Class "D" felony. This arrest stems from a two month long investigation by the NYSP and the Bath Police Department. Police allege that Brown-Borsberry cashed and attempted to cash numerous fraudulent travelers checks throughout the Village of Bath and the Town of Prattsburgh. Brown- Borsberry was arraigned before Justice James H. Burns and is to reappear in court at a later date.

Weapon

Philip J. Mordenga, age 19, of 6573 Vista Hill, Dansville, was arrested by Deputies at the County Office Building Wednesday Afternoon, December 19, 2007, for Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree. Mordenga entered the County Office Building with a gold/silver dagger. The dagger was detected during the x-ray screening procedures. Mordenga was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Bath Village Court on January 9th, 2008.

Domestic

The Bath Police Department report the arrest of William C. Tong, 35 of Painted Post following a domestic incident at Colonial Lawns Apartments. Tong was charged with Assault 3rd, Criminal Mischief 4th, Menacing 3rd and Unlawful Imprisonment 2nd after he allegedly threatened and assaulted his girlfriend, damaged her property and held her against her will when she attempted to contact Bath Police. Tong was arraigned in Bath Village Court and will reappear on January 2, 2008.

Sex offender notification

The Steuben County Sheriff's Office announce the arrest of a Cameron Mills man on December 20, 2007 at about 9:30 a.m. in the Town of Bath. Joel M. Parulski, age 29, was arrested for failure to notify address change as a sex offender. Mr. Parulski was arraigned in the Town of Bath Court where he was released on his own recognizance to appear at a later date to answer to charges.

DWI

The Bath Patrol Division reports the arrest of Mary L. Prouty, 44, of West Morris St. in the Village of Bath for Felony Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the First Degree, Driving While Intoxicated, Blood Alcohol content .08% or greater, Operating without insurance, Operating on a suspended registration and having switched license plates. This results from a civilian complaint to the Steuben County 911 center of an erratic driver. Ms. Prouty was arraigned in Avoca Village Court and remanded to the Steuben County Jail without bail. Ms. Prouty will appear in Bath Village Court at a later date to answer to charges.

Rape

Louis Earley of Budget Inn, Bath is charged with two counts of Rape in the First Degree, each a class B Felony, and Burglary in the Second Degree, a class C Felony, arising out of allegations that on September 6, 2007, in the Village of Wayland, the Defendant forcibly raped a female.
