Delio to succeed Conrad as fire department chief
By ROB PRICE THE COURIER-ADVOCATE

Ron Delio
BATH - There will be a new chief of the Bath Volunteer Fire Department when the department's new fire station officially opens Jan. 26.

Ron Delio, a 27-year member of the department, will succeed Chief Mark Conrad when the new year begins.

A life-long resident of Bath, Delio, 45, will oversee the opening of the department's new $2 million station on West Morris Street. Construction of the 18,000- square-foot station began in late 2006.

"I'll just be trying to get everything organized down there and doing business as usual," Delio said last week.

Conrad, who joined the department in 1990, will step down after serving six years as chief. He will work with the department's information technology and assist in the training of new firefighters.
