Rape

Bath state police last week arrested Jesse J. Joseph, 26, of 29 Porter St., Prattsburgh on a charge of second-degree rape, unlawfully dealing with a child and endangering the welfare of a child.

The charges allege Joseph in 2005 provided alcohol to a child less than 15 years old and had sexual intercourse with that child.

Joseph also was charged with third-degree rape and endangering the welfare of a child for allegedly have sexual intercourse with a 16-year-old child.

He was arraigned in Avoca town court and committed to the Steuben County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bail or a

$40,000 property bond.

DWI

State police in Bath last week arrested Cheri A. Baird, 49 , o f Hammondsport on a charge of driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop. She is to appear in Urbana town

court at a later date.

Warrant for violation

Sheriff's deputies last week arrested Christopher W. Quick, 27, of Bath at the county office building on a warrant for violation of New York state parole. Quick was remanded to the county jail pending further by the state Board of Parole.

Probation violation

Steuben County Sheriff's deputies last week arrested two Pulteney residents on charges of probation violation.

John F. Wright, 27, of Wright Road was taken into custody for allegedly violating a probation warrant issued from Bath village court. He had been convicted of driving while intoxicated in April 2007.

Wright is to appear in village court at a later date.

Craig M. Ayres, 32, of West Lake Road, was charged with violating a probation issued by Steuben County Court for a conviction of falsifying business records. Ayres was held in the Steuben County Jail pending an appearance n county court.

DWI

Bath village police last week arrested Ronald W. Simmond, 71, of Hudson Street, Bath, for felony aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and felony driving while intoxicated.

Simmonds was arraigned in village court and remanded to the Steuben County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail. He is to reappear at a later date in village court.
