• Are you wondering what to do with that beautiful poinsettia plant/s you were given for Christmas now that it is in early January? Never Fear! It is relatively easy to keep the beautiful plant for several years! What is needs is very little care until Februaryjust water and "love." But when February gets here, with March coming next, give it about half strength fertilizer such as 1/2 T of something like Miracle- Gro per gallon of water, just about every 3rd watering. As soon as the color of the plant flower starts to fade a bit, it's time to put it into dormancy. Prune the poinsettia way back to something like 8 inches tall, just leaving one to two leaves per branch. After pruning it, decrease the amount of water so the top inch of soil is dry between watering.

By mid-April, increase the times you water it and start fertilization using one T per gallon once a month. In late May, you should note the plant growing well, and in June, when it's warm enough, plant it outside. To be concluded next week!
