Quota Club celebrates big year BATH - Quota International of Bath celebrated their 11th anniversary at their annual Christmas dinner meeting hosted by President Shirley Smith. Outof town guests were Pat Carrier, Past Governor of District 17 and Kathy Carrier from Corning/Painted Post Quota Club. Lt. Governor Elizabeth Anderson introduced and installed a new member, Mildred Caughel, into the local Group. Entertainment was provided by the local Community Choir under the direction of Betty Gerych. Quota members collected food and supplies to be donated to the Bath SPCA animal shelter and a basket of personal care products was presented to Tina Yarrison for the Bath Domestic Violence Shelter, both projects spearheaded by Pat McCarthy of Avoca, a charter member of the Bath Quota Club. Quota Club of Bath meetings will reconvene in January, when the club will continue to pursue community giving. Past contributions have been to support the Thanksgiving Appeal food baskets through the Centenary United Methodist Church, Women's Domestic Violence Center Shelter, Crop Walk, St. Mary's Youth Group, Relay for Life fundraiser through the American Cancer Society, St. Mary's Youth Group, Education Scholarships, Arc of Steuben Capital Campaign, Bath Fire Department and the Lakeview Sidewalk project sponsored by the Rotary Club of Bath. Quota continues to maintain and monitor incoming donations to The Clothing Shed, located in the parking lot behind St. Mary's Church. All donations are appreciated and distributed to underprivileged families through St. Pauly's Distribution Center of Farmington, NY. The officers of Quota International of Bath are: Shirley Smith, president; Sheila Martin, vice president; Pam Schoonmaker, secretary, and Donna Gerych, treasurer. The Board of Directors is made up of Kathryn Deuel, Susan Narby and Marlea Sherwood. Quotarians are known especially for their service to deaf, hard-of-hearing, speechi individuals and disadvantaged women and children. Quota International, Inc., is an 87-year-old international service organization that links its members of all ages, occupations, and nationalities in a worldwide network of service and friendship.
