Hornell Police prevent church burglary HORNELL - Five hours into the new year, two Hornell men were charged with breaking into a city church. According to Hornell Police, Scotty M. Hurd, 18, of 13 Proctor Ave.; and Lucas M. Towner, 17, of 35 Oak Hill St., were caught Tuesday, Jan. 1, after being found in the United Presbyterian Church of Hornell on Main Street. They were charged with thirddegree burglary and possession of burglary tools. The two were nabbed after an officer on patrol spotted fresh footprints in the snow leading to a rear entrance to the church. The two were being held pending arraignment. |
