Campbell defeat Whitesville in Houghton Tournament
THE LEADER

HOUGHTON - Seven different Panthers got on the score sheet Friday, Dec. 28, and a rusty Campbell-Savona boys basketball team pulled out a 53-40 win against Whitesville in the first round of the Houghton Tournament.

Tom Overhiser led the Panthers (6-3) with 13 points and five rebounds, while Maynard Crane netted nine points and Camden Wright knocked down two 3-pointers for eight points. Whitesville's Brad Stevens led all scorers with 15 points.

"We had a good balanced attack. We weren't in snyc, but we had a 13-day layoff," said Campbell-Savona coach Merlin Button. "We fought through that and played better later in the game."
