Roy J. Galligan
died Thursday, Dec. 27, at the Bath V.A. Medical Center with those who loved him. He was born Sept. 22, 1943 in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania, the son of Joseph and Gladys Galligan Huffner. Roy proudly served in the U.S. Army for 12 years, spending 16 months in Viet Nam, 4 years in the Panama Canal Zone and 2 years in Kentucky. He worked at Mercury Aircraftin Hammondsport for 10 years and drove locally for J&T Taxi in Bath. Roy will be remembered for being a loving husband, father and Papa. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends and all who knew him. He was predeceased by his parents, brothers Frederick, John, Thomas, Charles, William, Timothy, Joseph, Edward and sister Gladys Castro. Survivors include his loving wife of 42 years, Elaine (Shugars) Galligan of Bath; daughter Kathleen Mauel of Wisconsin; son Robert (Kristi) of Bath; grandsons Jade and Jonah Galligan and Ian Henrichsen all of Bath; brothers Francis (Linda) and Richard both of Bath, Raymond (Shirley) of Prattsburgh and George (Diane Lewis) of Bradford; sisters Annie Spear of Campbell and Mary (Terry) Naylor of Painted Post. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and companion Robin Buck and daughter Rachael. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Falck Cancer Treatment Center in Corning, NY in Roy's memory. |
