Service families deserve our appreciation

To the Editor,

I read the article in the Dec. 30, 2007 issue of The Courier regarding our local servicemen and women away from home and the hardships their families endure, especially during

the holidays. I would like to personally thank the Randy Akins family,

the Garrett Tuthill family, the Chris Hand family and especially their sons for allowing me to enjoy my holidays with my family. We are free only because of their sacrifices and hardships. Please pray for our troops and may God keep them safe.
