Robert Marion Witt
He was born in Fairmont, West Virginia on Feb. 21, 1933, son of Len Loranza and Dez Litton Witt. A graduate of Mt. Lebenon High School, Mt. Lebenon, Pennsylvania, Class of 1951, he attended West Virginia University and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, before graduating from Fairmont State (West Virginia) in 1957. He worked for Westinghouse/Phillips in Fairmont, West Virginia and in Bath. He retired from Bath National Bank in 2000 and was a fixture in Bath as the voice of Haverling Rams Soccer from 1988 to 2002. A loving husband, devoted father and doting grandfather, he is survived by wife Nancy Witt of Bath; children Jay (Lisa) Witt of Mulberry, Tennessee, Gill (Kristina) Witt of New York, Lynda Witt of Long Beach, California, Mark (Kara) Witt of Franklin, Massachusetts, Scott (Linda) Witt of Austin, Texas and Robert (Stephanie) Witt of El Segundo, California; grandchildren Katelyn, Ryan, Julia, James, Sarah, Edward, Samantha, Alyssia and Donovan. Beloved brother of James Witt of Fairmont, West Virginia, Betty Jo Stuart of Roanoke, Virginia, Lu Ellen Griffin of Wilmington, North Carolina and the late Charles Witt, Len Witt, Anna Lee Beech and Peggy Jean Williams. Friends called Tuesday, Jan. 15 from 5-7 p.m. and Wednesday, Jan. 16 from 9-11 a.m. at Fagan's Funeral Home in Bath. Memorial services followed at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home, with Reverend Doug Madden officiating. Burial was held in Nondaga Cemetery, Bath, with Military Honors. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. |
