Bath finishes 4th at Watson Memorial

WATKINS GLEN - When Isaac Kolz dislocated his elbow Friday, Jan. 11, in the preliminary rounds of the Mike Watson Tournament, the Bath Haverling wrestling team found something to rally around. Saturday, Jan. 12, the Rams delivered with a fourth-place finish overall and two

individual champs.

Bath's Kyle Conrad went 5-0 enroute to a title at 105 pounds and Jacob Harrison took top honors in the 119-pound class with an unblemished 5-0 record. Brian Hojnoski (96) and Cody Hutcheson (171) placed second in their respective classes with 4-1 records, while Bill Crowe and Zack Simons each took home third-place trophies for Bath.

"I'm pretty happy, (Kolz) got hurt Friday night and I think we rallied around him," said Bath coach Jim Fowler. "We didn't finish as strong as I would like, but overall we're happy."

Corning finished eighth out of 24 teams with 101.5 points.

At 130 pounds, Corning's Brian Guilfoyle took second place, going 4- 1 on the day. Guilfoyle is now 24-2 on the season. At 215, Brian Carroll finished in second also, going 3-1. Carroll improved his record 23-2.

The Hawks also got a fourth-place finish from Ben Mackley at 160. Mackley went 4-2 and moved to 20-7 on the season.

Corning got six-place finishes from Gregory Partridge (96) and Kyle Bickle (140).
