Cub scouts race derbies

HAMMONDSPORT - Cub Scout Pack 18 enjoyed its annual Pinewood Derby earlier this month, holding races for each den in the pack followed by a general pack race, a sibling race and an adult race.

The Hammondsport Rotary Club provided food for the event and helped judge the best designs. The best overall design award went to Shaun Miller, followed by Garrett Rodger, Connor Wilson and David Mitchell.

Tiger Den winners were: Connor Wilson (first place), Nigel Ruise (second), and Robert Stoeckel (third)

Wolf Den winners were Travis Raab (first), Zachary Pifer (second) and Dillon Conley (third).

Bears Den winners were Jackson Cummings (first), Jared Raab (second) and Nick Erway (third).

Webelo Denn winners were Jordon Thompson (first), Garret Rodgers (second) and Enrique Ardon (third).

Webelo 2 Den winners were Adam Mitchell (first), Walker Kapral (second) and Jeffrey Thompson (third).

After den races, an overall pack race was held with the following winners: Jackson Cummings (first), Travis Raab (second), and Nick Erway (third).

First-place winners will continue racing at a District Pinewood Derby later this year.
