      The tradition of throwing rice at a newly married couple has been around since ancient times. Many ancient civilizations believed that by throwing rice the fertility of the seeds would be passed on to the couple. They also believed that rice could ward off evil spirits.

Wedding announcement
      Caitlin Rae Langelier and Zachary Christopher Arnold were married June 30, 2007 at the Geneseo United Methodist Church, Geneseo. The bride was given in marriage by her father and the Rev. Laurie DeMott officiated at the ceremony. Music for the ceremony was provided by pianist Peter O'Connor.
