Bath Republicans also nominated former village Justice Robert Dugo to run against Justice Chauncey Watches. Dugo, however, declined to accept the nomination.

About 20 Democrats caucused Jan. 23, but none volunteered to run for village office, which the exception of Watches, who will finish his first term as justice in March. Democrats nominated William Austin,a registered Independent, to run as a Democrat. Austin will appear on the Democratic line of the March 18 ballot.
