Bath Rotary Club hosts speech contest

The Bath Rotary Club held its local oratorical contest at Campbell-Savona Central School last month, awarding first-place to Olivia Tyler, a junior at Campbell-Savona Central School.

Olivia is the daughter of Dean and Valerie Tyler of Campbell. As the local winner Olivia received a certificate and a check for $100 from the Bath Rotary Club.

Second place was claimed by Megan Rydek.

The winner goes on to compete at the Rotary 7120 District level with some great possibilities for college scholarships.

Prizes are as follows:

•Semi-Final Contest winners: $100 Prize

• Top three District Finalists to receive a $500 Bond

•Up to three District finalists may be awarded the opportunity to choose from scholarships available for September, 2007

Monroe Community College $500/year;

SUNY Geneseo, $750/yearr; SUNY Brockport, $2,500 year;

Keuka College, $2,500/year;

Nazareth College, $3,000/yr;

Roberts Wesleyan, $2,500/yr;

Rochester Institute of Technology, $5,000/year;

St. John Fisher, $2,500/yearr;

University of Rochester, $7,500/year
