Ronald V. Hobbs

BATH - Ronald V. Hobbs, 59, of 5711 Hayes Road, Bath, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 26, at home. Born in Susquehanna, Pennsylvania on August 9, 1948, he was the son of Gardner and Bessie Rynearson Hobbs. Ron will be missed by his family, his friends and all his precious pets. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and motorcycle rider. He drove semi trucks for various companies throughout his life. He loved to feed birds and watch deer in his back yard. He was a combat Army veteran of the Vietnam Conflict and served in the National Guard. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW in Bath, the NRA, NAFC and many other organizations. He married his wife Linda on September 2nd, 1992. She survives.

Also surviving are his son Robert Eldridge of Bath, his daughter Tina Tears of New Orleans, Louisiana, his brothers Earl (Lou Ellen) Hobbs of Cheektowaga, NY, Robert (Joyce) Hobbs of Adrian, NY, and Kenny (Mary) Travis of Susquehanna, Pennsylvania, sisters Sharon (Jack) Harbison of Horseheads, Irene (Orson) Rumsey of Beaver Dams, Karen (Mike) Garner of Pavilion, NY and Lois Bennett of Montrose, Pennsylvania.

His mother, Bessie (Joe) Parkhurst of Beaver Dams; sisters-in-law Mary (Phil) Hall and Dorothy (Ron) Burdick; brothersin law Roger (Anne) Sutton and Edward (Lucinda) Sutton; his grand-daughter Brittany Gentry; his best friends Bucky and Helen Vandermark; special friend Anna Bella Eddy; and many nieces and nephews.

His is preceded in death by his father Gardner Hobbs; his brother Richard Rynearson; and sister Rosemary Bennett. Friends called Monday, Jan. 28, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the H.P. Smith & Son, Inc. Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull, where funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, Jan. 29, at 11 a.m. Re v. Sandra Olmstead officiated.

Burial was held in Woodhull Cemetery.
