Suzanne M. Bloom

BATH - Suzanne M. Bloom, 69, of 12 Dogwood St., Bath, died Sunday, Jan. 27, in the Bath V.A. Medical Center, Bath.

Born in Corning, she was the daughter of the late Elton T. and the late Lillian I. (Gavitt) Sowersby.

Sue attended school in the Corning are and was a graduate of Northside High School. She served in the Air Force from April 3, 1967 to Feb. 2, 1959. Sue was a nurse at the Bath V.A., where she retired with 15 plus years of dedicated service. She was a member of the Crystal City V.F.W., where she enjoyed working many dinners and functions. Sue loved playing the Bell Jar tickets, loved being with family,was a diehard Mark Martin fan, and loved dancing and square dancing.

She is survived by daughters Carol (Steve) Shoemaker of Bath, June

Mark) Belknap of Elmira, Darlene (Daren) Phillips of Corning, and Angel (Ben) Dickison of Hornby. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchidlren; one sister, Penny

Herb) Kimble of Florida, and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by brothers James and Alton "Rusty" Sowersby; sister, June Houck; and longtime companion, George Harkin.

Services for Sue were held at Carpenter's Funeral Home on Wednesday, Jan. 30, from Noon to 2 p.m. A Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. immediately after calling hours.

Burial was held in Bath National Cemetery with Military Honors.
