Accused pedophile to go to court
THE LEADER STAFF

BATH - An accused pedophile who jumped bail and evaded authorities for nearly three months will appear next week in Steuben County Court.

Anthony P. Kroeger, 48, formerly of Prattsburgh, fled the state in October while free on $25,000 cash bail.

He was indicted in June on more than a dozen felonies related to child sexual abuse and child pornography.

On Tuesday, Kroeger was officially charged with second-degree bail jumping, a felony. In addition to any sentence levied for the sex charges, Kroeger faces an additional four years in state prison for bail jumping.

Kroeger was arrested in Carrollton, Georgia, in late December after his roommate called police. He is scheduled to appear in court Friday, Feb. 8, for a conference, according to the Steuben County Court Clerk's Office.

Kroeger was returned to Steuben County earlier this month. He is currently being held without bail.
