Upcoming Ag programs

• The Southern Tier Field Crop Workshop will be held March 6 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Express in Horseheads. The program includes Cornell experts discussing Wildlife Damage Control on the Farm, Common Sense Rootworm Control, Meeting Crop Nutrient Needs Without Breaking Your Budget and Alfalfa Insect Pest Update. Cost is $12 per person for lunch, and reservations are appreciated by March 4 to 607-664-2300.

• The Steuben Area Christmas Tree Growers Annual Meeting will be held March 11 at the Bath Country Club. Registration begins at 10:45 a.m. The program, Growing Christmas Trees from Planting through Harvest, will be presented by Duane Berkey of Spartansburg, PA.

• The 2008 Dry Bean Meeting will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. March 13 at DiPacific's Restaurant in Farmington.
