Carl David Coval

PENHOOK, VIRGINIA - Carl David Coval, age 59, of Penhook, Virginia and formerly of Campbell, died Monday, Jan. 28.

He was a 21 year veteran serving in the U.S. Navy Seabees. While in the Navy he served in various duty assignments which included two tours in Vietnam. Carl was a member of the navy Seabee Veterans of Amberica, and the American Legion. He was also a member of Penhook United Methodist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents John and Beverly Coval; and a son John Benjamin Coval.

Surviving are his sister Carol A. Hawkins; brother Conrad Coval; three sons Carl B. Coval, John C. Coval and Michael D. Coval; five grandchildren; a cousin Virginia Withers; and his significant other Nancy Staples.

Funeral services was conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel at 9 a.m. Monday, Feb. 4, with the Rev. Judith Short officiating. Graveside services were conducted from Seaman's Cemetery in Savona at 12 noon Tuesday, Feb. 5.

The family received friends Sunday, Feb. 3 from 2-4 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service, Rocky Mount.
