Douglas A. DuVall CHOCTAW, OKLAHOMA - Douglas A. DuVall, son of Arthur G. and Claribel L. DuVall was born Sept. 13, 1958 at Ira Davenport Hospital, Bath. He passed away Feb. 7, at home in Choctaw, Oklahoma after a courageous battle with colon cancer. He attended Savona Central School from kindergarten through 10th grade, graduating from Haverling High School, Bath, in June 1977. Doug spent his adult life in the electrical field, first as an Aircraft Electrician in the U.S. Navy for 5 years, then as an Aircraft Electrician at Tinker Air Force Base in Midwest City, Oklahoma. He worked on all types of aircrafts including a B-1 Bomber. After ten years at Tinker he decided to become a Commercial Electrician after obtaining a Journey Man's Electrical Certificate. He worked on many jobs around Oklahoma City, including Will Rogers International Airport, many stores, and schools. His latest accomplishment was as an Electrical Supervisor of wiring for Oklahoma State University's Football Stadium. As a result of his hard work and knowledge he was given duties as Project Manager of many electrical construction jobs with Prime Electric in Oklahoma. Doug is survived by one daughter, Rachael Lynn DuVall of Edmond, Oklahoma; one son, Kody Daniel DuVall of Midwest City, Oklahoma; parents, Arthur and Claribel (Barkley) DuVall; one brother, Gary DuVall of Savona; special friend, Sonia Herrington of Choctaw, Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Judy Burleson; aunts and uncle, Donna and Clinton Barkley of Jacksonville, Florida and Mary Robins of Bath; cousins, Robin and Richard Hill of Savona, Elaine and Gerald Scanlon of Jacksonville, Florida, David Barkley of Jacksonville, Florida, Jeffery Robins of Cortland, Jill and Geoffrey Grimsman of Wilmington, North Carolina, Janet and Paul Kenyon of Hamburg, Jennie Stamp and Clair Stamp of Rolesville, North Carolina and Rebecca Pierce of Rolesville, North Carolina. He was predeceased by his older sister, Sharon Jean in 1990. He will be greatly missed by all of those who knew, associated, and worked with him at all levels. Friends called Wednesday, Feb. 13, from 3- 5 p.m. at Carpenter's Funeral Home, LLC, 14 East Pulteney Street, Corning. The service was held Thursday, Feb. 14, at 11 a.m. with Pastor John Armstrong officiating at Carpenter's Funeral Home LLC. Burial followed at Seaman's Cemetery in Savona.
