Evelyn J. Meincke

BATH - Evelyn J. Meincke, age 96, of Bath, passed away Saturday, Feb. 16, at the Steuben County Health Care Facility. She was born in Bath, Nov. 29, 1911 the daughter of Ward and Lydia VanGelder Jones. She was a retired Sales Clerk from W.T. Grants of Bath. Mrs. Meincke was a very active member and Deacon of the First Presbyterian Church of Bath and also helped with the senior high youth fellowship. She was a member of; D.A.R., Eastern Star, Amaranth and the Bath Garden Club, and was a Lioness.

She is survived by two daughters, Brenda (Lawrence) Burton of Bath and Dorthea Joanne (Bob) Manning of Horseheads; grandchildren, Linwood (Cindy) Hough of Wayne, Shelley Hough of California, Kathy (Charlie) Martin of Florida, Tracey (Dan) Finley of Florida, Suzette (Tom) Tunison of Bath, Melissa Clark of Bath, Sherman Lyke of Bath and Matthew (Andrea) Lyke of Bath; great grandchildren, Kelly Thomas, Alicia Thomas, Tommy Tunison, Danny

Tunison, Jimmy Tunison, Katie Clark and Skylar Lyke; great great grandchildren, Emily and Leanna; her niece Mary Learn and nephews, Robert Richard and Douglas Jones. She was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Harry Glodny, second husband Carl Meincke, brother and sister-in-law, Leo and Nancy Jones, nephew Leo Jones Jr. and cousins, Howard (Agnes) Walker and Catherine Walker.

Friends and family called on Wednesday, Feb. 20, from 4-6:30 pm. at the Fellowship Hall at the First Presbyterian Church of Bath. Funeral Services followed at 7 p.m. at the Church with Reverend Douglas Madden officiating. Burial was held in the Nondaga Cemetery.
