Frederick "Rusty" Brace, Jr.

BATH - Frederick "Rusty" Brace, Jr., 54, passed away Saturday, Feb. 23, at his home.

He was born Aug. 16, 1953 in Penn Yan, the son of the late Frederick and Harriet (Cornish) Brace.

Rusty married Julie Pierce on Sept. 11, 1989 in Urbana. He was employed by Mercury Aircraft, Inc. from 1973 until he became disabled in 2004. He was a member of the Bath VFW Post 1470, Bath Elks Lodge 1547 and he was SAL at the Hammondsport Legion Post 470. Rusty enjoyed doing hog roasts, wood working, fishing and spending time with his family and many friends.

He is survived by his wife, Julie Brace of Bath; two daughters, Alicia (Bryan) Jamison of Corning and Katie (John) Pettitt of Elmira; grandchildren, Nolan and Rece Jamison of Elmira and Gabriel (Button) Pettitt of Elmira; mother-inlaw, Beverly (Ernie) Grose of Bath; sisters, Donna (John) Barnard of Tennessee, Kathy (Gary) Hoagland of Beaver Dams and Lorrie (Lowell) Cummings of Watkins Glen; brothers, Alan (Cathy) Brace of Florida, Mike (Corky) Brace of Dundee, Steve (Mary) Brace of Dundee and Shawn (Peggy) Brace of Dundee; sister, Shelly (Bob) Moore of Dundee; several nieces and nephews; and his special "Pal-AL".

He was predeceased by his parents.

Rusty's Memorial service was held on Saturday, March 1, at the Bath VFW Post 1470 at 2 p.m. with the Reverend Douglas Madden officiating with an Elk Service at the conclusion of the memorial service. A luncheon will followed the services.

The flowers will be provided by the family.

Memorial donations may be made in Rusty's name to Souther Tier Hospice.

Arrangements are being handled by Bond-Davis

Funeral Home of Bath.
