Engagement announcement

Lawrence and Bonnie Kirkum have announced the engagement of their son Capt. Joshua Kirkum to Michele Davis.

Michele Davis of Charlotte, North Carolina, is the daughter of Joan Shaffer of Opeliha, Alabama and the late Ronald Lee Davis of North Carolina. Her stepfather is Robert Shaffer of Opeliha, Alabama. She was born in Columbia, South Carolina. She is a 1995 graduate of Brevard High School, North Carolina; 1999 graduate of UNC, Ashville, North Carolina; and a 2006 graduate of Gardner-Web University of Nursing. She is now employed as a traveling nurse.

Joshua is the son of Lawrence and Bonnie Kirkum of Wayland. He was born in Hornell. He is a 1997 graduate of WCCS; 2001 graduate of Mansfield University; and a 2005 graduate of Officers Training School. He is presently stationed in Albuquerque, New Mexico as a navigator.

A beach wedding in South Carolina is scheduled for June of 2008.
