Fire strikes Prattsburgh home

PRATTSBURGH - The home of Chadwick Hall and his family, at 5827 Dillenbeck Road, was extensively damaged by fire around 5 p.m. Monday, March 3.

Naples Fire Chief Patrick Elwell, whose department responded along with the Prattsburgh Fire Department, said the fire appears to have started from discarded ashes from a wood stove.

Hall was the only one home at the time and unsuccessfully tried to put the fire out with a fire extinguisher. He got out safely and the home is insured.
