POLICE DWI Steuben County Sheriff's deputies last week charged Harold LeRoy Hand, Jr. of 4036 Smith Road, Cameron Mills, with driving while intoxicated and driving with a blood-alcohol content greater than .08 percent. Hand also was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of motor vehicle. He is to appear at a later date in Addison court. Fraud Steuben County Sheriff's deputies last week charged Felix T. Davila, 57, of the Budget Inn, 332 W. Morris St., Bath, with first degree offering a false instrument for filing and fifth degree welfare fraud. Davila allegedly failed to report a bank account containing funds exceeding $6,000 to the Department of Social Services, which resulted in his receiving benefits to which he was not entitled. He was remanded to the Steuben County Jail on no bail. Underage drinking initiative New York state police last week conducted an underage drinking initiative to investigate whether area retail businesses are in compliance with the state drinking laws. As a result of the investigation, Anthony Cagle, 19, of 8949 county Route 16, Savona, was charged with unlawfully selling alcohol while employed at the Pilot Travel Center on Route 53 in Kanona. Cagle is to appear in Bath town court at a later date.
In addition, Melindea E., Smith, 51, of North Main Street, Avoca, was charged with unlawfully selling alcohol while working at the Avoca Country Market in the Village of Avoca. She is to appear at a later date in Avoca town court. |
