Ruth I. Hatfield

BATH - Ruth I. Hatfield, 97, of Bath, died Monday, March 24, at the Ira Davenport Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Lancing, Michigan, Aug. 25, 1910, the daughter of Custer and Pearl A. Smith Bush. She worked with her husband for 20 years operating Hatfield's Store. Ruth attended Michigan University. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bath and also worked with the Girls Scouts for many years.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan (Robert) Hamilton of Virginia Beach, Virginia; son, Thomas Hatfield of Bath; two grandsons, Scott (Amy) Hamilton of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Eric (Sabrina) Hatfield of Bath; great grandchildren, Casey Furia, Mason Hamilton, Austin Hamilton and Briana Hatfield; nephews, Bruce (Marcia) Bush of Lincoln, California and Robert (Alanna) Bush of Anthem, Arizona. She was predeceased by her husband Robert Hatfield in 1992.

Friends called on Thursday, March 27 from 2:30-3:30 p.m. at Fagan's Funeral Home, 31 West Morris St., Bath. A memorial service followed at 3:30 p.m. at the Funeral Home with Reverend Douglas Madden officiating. Burial will be in the Grove Cemetery.
