Monroe J. Brush Monroe J. Brush, 76, formerly of Lake St., Hammondsport passed away Friday, March 28, at the Taylor Health Center. He was born Aug. 25, 1931 in Prattsburgh, the sono f John Earl and Esther Gertrude Bennett Brush. Monty lived in Avoca for several years before moving to Hammondsport in 1937, he started working at Mercury Aircraft in 1950 and retired from there after many years of service. He was a longtime member of the Rebecca's and the Odd Fellow Lodge, one of the founders of the Hammondsport Vol. Ambulance Corp. and a member of the Hammondsport Fire Dept. Surviving are his sisters Onalee J. Clark of Bath and Edna Bailey of Elmira and several nieces, nephews and cousins all who helped him over the years. At his request there will be no calling hours, committal services will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be made to the Taylor Health Center, 7571 State Route 54, Bath, NY 14810 in his name. Arrangements are by the LaMarche Funeral Home of Hammondsport. |
