Helen E. (Gorgacz) Senay

SARASOTA, FLORIDA - Mrs. Helen E. Senay (Gorgacz), 87, was born on June 4, 1920 in Corning, to Agnes and Stephen. She and Joseph Francis Senay were married on August 31, 1940 in Corning. She had been ill for several months and died an March 25.

Helen was predeceased in death by her husband in 1980 and a son, Alson Gerald Senay in 1986.

She had been a resident of Prattsburgh for many years before moving to Sarasota, Florida in 1981. Helen worked for Westinghouse in Bath for 20 years and retired from there in 1980, only to move to Sarasota where she worked in her son's restaurant (Pokie Joe's), for the next 20 years.

While living in Prattsburgh, Helen was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and sang in the choir.

She is survived and will be greatly missed by her son and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph R. Senay, Sarasota, Florida; her daughter, Florence Lipa of Sarasota, Florida; a granddaughter, Mrs. Stephen (Donna) Hanning of Rochester; a grandson, Michael Senay of Batavia; two granddaughters, Alison and Hannah Senay of Sarasota, Florida; and another grandson, Christopher Lipa of Ocala, Florida. Also, several greatgrandchildren, cousins, and many, many friends.

The family received visitors at the Bottoni-Wood Funeral Home, Prattsburgh on Monday, March 31, from 5-7 p.m. with her funeral held on Tuesday, April 1, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment followed at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Prattsburgh.
