Eventually, everything is valuable

To the Editor;

It's amazing how many things are considered collectible. I wonder if anyone is collecting the glossy, colorful flyers Randy Kuhl is sending out, every few weeks it seems.

I have a complete set of the five he has sent out since November. February's gives a heads up that by next February (2009) some of us may need to buy a $50 converter box for our TV. The one on energy asks if we think there is a problem with the cost of energy. November's features a picture of children playing and the caption, "No child in New York should ever have to live without health coverage," well-timed to ease some of the criticism he was receiving for voting four times against a bipartisan SCHIP bill to cover 4 million more uninsured kids - many right here in our district.

Most people I know toss them out. Others see them as part of Randy's re-election campaign, designed to deflect criticism and appear on top of things, like the TV situation. It's like Randy has forgotten that average folks can recognize messages that are meaningless or misleading. Maybe he's just getting poor PR advice. If anyone would like my copies, they are welcome."
