From staff reports

BATH - Where do you find irresistable homewares, valuable farm equipment, scrumptious snacks, cooking lessons, classic antique cars, music, crafts and even a flea market - all in the same place?

Easy: The 2008 Home and Recreation Show, located on the Steuben County Fairgrounds and sponsored by The Steuben Courier- Advocate. This year's two-day show, scheduled for May 17 and 18 has something for everyone, brought to the fairgrounds by dozens of vendors offering the latest in home, recreation and farm merchandise.

The Home and Recreation Show will feature two additional exciting events: A lumber Jack and Jill festival with intense competitions between male and female timber jockeys, and a firematics competition and water ball contest featuring the Bath Volunteer fire Department.

The festival begins the morning of May 17 with a Bath Rotary Club pancake breakfast and continues through the day with chicken barbecues, hamburgers and hot dogs, sugar waffles and hayrides.

The good times continue Sunday with hay wagon rides and the 2008 Classic Car Show, sponsored by Bath Napa Auto Parts, Machuga Contracting and Sleve Construction. Your vintage autos may be registered at the Napa store on Lackawanna Ave. from 10 to 11 a.m.

The classic vehicles and their drivers will make their way to the fairgrounds, with trophies to be awarded later in the afternoon.

Stop by the fairgrounds and enjoy the festivities. Admission is free, as is parking at the racetrack.
