Neva M. Crabtree PRATTSBURGH - Neva M. Crabtree, age 88, of State Route 53 South, Prattsburgh died peacefully on Sunday, April 13, at home surrounded by her family. Friends and family called at the Bottoni-Wood Funeral Home, 4 mechanic St., Prattsburgh on Thursday, April 17, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., an Eastern Star service was held at 8 p.m.; and on Friday, April 18 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Her funeral service followed immediately Friday at 12 noon, with the Re. Sandy Thomas officiating. Interment followed at Bath National Cemetery in Bath. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Neva's name to the Prattsburgh Protectives, 15 Allis St., Prattsburgh, NY 14873; the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 504, Prattsburgh, NY 14873, or to the charity of one's choice. Neva was born in the Town of Wallace on Sept. 11, 1919, the daughter of the late, John and Mabel Pawling Nageli. She was member of the Avoca Central School graduating Class of 1937. She was employed with the Steuben County Dept. of Social Services, the Domiciliary Office at the Bath Veteran's Administration Medical Center, and retired on Oct. 26, 1974 as a claims representative for the Social Security Administration in Corning. She and her late husband, Jack, had owned and operated the Lake Demon Recreation Area. Neva was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employee, The Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 504 in Prattsburgh, th e Prattsburgh Forum, Avoca Red Hatters, Lake Demon Association, and a life member of the NYS Grange. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased in life by her first husband, Ernie Schutz on January 15, 1959 and her second husband, John H. 'Jack' Crabtree on March 29, 1979. Neva is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ernie (Delilah) Schutz of Prattsburgh; grand daughters, Jacquelyn (Brandon) Filkins and Wendi Tarr; grandson, Thomas (Marilane) Wheeler; great grandchildren, Samantha, Krystal, Zachary and Logan Wheeler, Sabrina, Brock, and Pierce Tarr, and Gabrielle and Harper Filkins; great great grandchildren, Jonathan Margeson and Travis Kidder; and special nieces, Lynda Kelley and Katherine Fox.
