C-S athletes earn scholarathlete award

CAMPBELL - With an academic average of 93.78, the Campbell-Savona boys track team has earned the New York State Public High School Athletic Association's scholar athlete award for the sixth season in a row. This year's roster is the biggest team to win the award, with all 21 boys sharing the accomplishment. Sophomore Jared Allen leads the Panthers with a 98.9 average, while fellow sophomore Ray Holmes boasts a 98.2 average. The team consists of freshmen: Matt Colvin, Zack McCann, Nick Pearl, David Stage and Carson Tyler, sophomores: Greg Hagenbuch, Calvin Haynes, Mike Miller, Sam Mannel and Tanner Swedeen, Allen and Holmes, juniors: Tim Klock, Brett Rosko and Pat Tims and seniors: Nate Baird, Alex Northrup, Josh Poplaski, Drew Teter, Ryan Thompson and Chris Uncapher. Each athlete will be awarded a certificate and a pin to acknowledge their collective efforts in the classroom.
