Senior citizen's prom May 10
      BATH - The Steuben County Office for the Aging will host its annual senior citizen prom May 10 from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. in the Haverling high school gymnasium. The dance, called "Magic of the Orient," will feature the Hepcats Big Band with vocalist LouAnne Heth-Carson.

Prattsburgh school taxes could decline

      PRATTSBURGH - School taxes in Prattsburgh are expected to drop despite a budget that calls for a $422,000 spending increase. The Prattsburgh Central School District Board of Education recently approved its 2008-09 operating budget, set at $8.25 million, up 5.4 percent from last year's budget.

Dormann poetry winners
      The third annual poetry contest for Haverling High School students culminated in an awards night featuring pizza, and the individual reading of the student's poem. Prizes were movie tickets donated by the VA Credit Union and Serv U Credit Union.
