BATH - Where do you find irresistable homewares, valuable farm equipment, scrumptious snacks, cooking lessons, classic antique cars, and lots of music - all in the same place?

The answer is easy: The annual Home and Recreation Show, located on the Steuben County Fairgrounds and sponsored by The Steuben Courier- Advocate. This year's two-day show opens Saturday, May 17 and continues through May 18 and has something for everyone, brought to the fairgrounds by dozens of vendors offering the latest in home, recreation and farm merchandise.

This year's homeshow will feature two additional exciting events: A lumber Jack and Jill festival Saturday, May 17, with intense competitions between male and female timber jockeys, and a firematics competition and water ball contest Sunday, May 18, featuring the Bath Volunteer fire Department.

The Home and Recreation Show opens Saturday with a pancake breakfast hosted by the Steuben County Agricultural Society. The fun continues through the weekend with chicken barbecues, hamburgers and hot dogs, sugar waffles and other snacks. Vendors will be offering the latest in home, recreation and farm merchandise, as well as cooking lessons, music, crafts and a flea market.

On Sunday, along with Firematics, the Home Show will feature the 2008 Classic Car Show, sponsored by Bath NAPA Auto Parts, Machuga Contracting and Sleve Construction. Your vintage autos may be registered at the NAPA store on Lackawanna Avenue from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

One more treat: Timothy the Raccoon will be at ServU Credit Union's booth on both Saturday and Sunday from 12-3pm. Bring your children and a camera for a great photo opportunity.
