John C. Collmer
Friends and family called at the Bottoni-Wood Funeral Home, 4 Mechanic St., Prattsburgh, on Friday, May 9, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. His funeral service followed immediately after at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Don Peek officiating. Interment will followed at Bath National Cemetery in Bath. Memorials may be made in John's name to a Cardiac Rehab of one's choice. John was born in North Hornell, on Jan. 27, 1946, the son of the late Carl and Doris Lorow Collmer. John had served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was employed as a delivery driver for 37 years with Burnwell Gas Co. He was a member of the Prattsburgh American Legion and a life member of the Bath VFW. He was predeceased by his parents, Carl in 1978 and Doris in 1987; and his sister, Thelma Stephens in 1996. He is survived by his son, Carl E. (Jasmine) Collmer of San Antonio, Texas; daughter, Christina (Sean) Walden of Avoca; grandchildren, Jacob and Katie Walden; step grandchildren, Zachery Walden and Tiffffany VanZile; former wife and best friend, Cathy (James) Trenchard of Prattsburgh; brothers, Bill Collmer of Wyoming, Tim (Jackie) Collmer of Nunda, Mike Collmer of Bath, Mark Collmer of Beaver Dams and Jim (Ruth) Collmer of Naples; sisters, Margaret (Herbie) Gleason of Belmont, Arlene Collmer of Beaver Dams, Sara (Byran) Collmer of Corning, Diane (Gary) Costello of Bath, Janice (Robert) Brinks of Elmira and Ruth (Allen) Lewis of Cohocton; several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
