Parades, ceremonies to honor the fallen
A time for remembering

BATH - The Bath VA Medical Center Monday will host a Memorial Day observance at 1 p.m. The event will include a parade featuring the Bath Haverling marching band, military vehicles, classic cars, floats, marching units, and more. A fly-over is also planned.

The event is free and open to the public, which is encouraged to visit the nearby Bath National Cemetery, where fifth-graders from the Dana Lyon Elementary School in Bath have placed 13,000 American flags. For details, call 664-4772.

Other memorial Day events:

• A Memorial Day ceremony will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday at the Woodhull Cemetery. The Addison Central School band and a Boy Scout troop from Jasper- Troupsburg will be participating.

• A Memorial Day parade will begin at noon at the intersection of Stone Road and county Route 74 in Pulteney and go through the hamlet to the Glen View Cemetery, where a ceremony will be held.
