Bath Chamber to host second Community Activities Council meeting
      BATH - The Greater Bath Area Chamber of Commerce at 6 p.m. June 4 will host a second meeting to explore how community groups, churches and social organizations can better communicate and coordinate events. The meeting will take place in the Dormann Library.

Banquet honors four
      The 10th annual Helen Rubar Memorial Peace Scholarship will be presented to four graduating seniors at the 4th annual Peace Banquet on June 4 at 7 p.m. The Banquet will be hosted by the PeaceWeavers at their Thunder Mountain Retreat Sanctuary at 8125 Crouse Road outside of Bath.

      Newly elected officers of the Steuben County American Legion were installed recently at a meeting held at the Theodore R. VanTassel Post 402 in Wayland. The Installing officer was William Brown, of Hornell, Past New York State Department Commander.

Savona high school grad successful in Virgin Islands
      A 1985 graduate of the former Savona High School has been named director of the U.S. Virgin Islands Hotel and Tourism Association. Lisa Hamilton, daughter of Richard and Judy Hamilton of Savona, has been overseeing the tourism development association since her appointment earlier this year.

Family of five loses home to fire

      Campbell - A mother and her three young sons escaped an evening blaze Wednesday that severely damaged the family's Wixon Road home. Samantha Bulkley and her sons were not injured by the fire, which started sometime after 5 p.m. Wednesday.
